ARESTIN®: Advanced Antibiotic Treatment for Gum Disease
At Luf Dental, we utilize ARESTIN® (minocycline hydrochloride)—a powerful antibiotic designed to combat periodontal disease and promote gum health.
This innovative treatment consists of microsphere technology, delivering medication directly into infected gum pockets after a scaling and root planing procedure. These microspheres gradually release the antibiotic over 30 days, providing continuous protection against bacteria. Within 90 days, ARESTIN® has been shown to deliver significantly better results than scaling and root planing alone.
Post-Treatment Care for Optimal Results
To ensure effective healing, we recommend the following:
✔ Avoid touching treated gum areas for one week.
✔ Refrain from flossing or using toothpicks in treated areas for 10 days.
✔ Stick to soft foods, avoiding hard, crunchy, or sticky foods for one week.
✔ Stay hydrated to support the healing process.
✔ Limit smoking and tobacco use, as they can slow recovery.
✔ Attend follow-up appointments to monitor your gum health.
